Bhutan Druk Path Trekking is beautiful scenic high elevation hike in Bhutan’s remote alpine areas. The trekking route of this Druk Path follows traditional mule route between Thimphu and Paro which supplies stuffs in the remote place. It popular trek recommended route and duration for those who are moderate trekkers and need ample time to explore around country side. It is consider as one of the most varied and outstanding destination where trekkers can witness the Last Shangri –La on Earth. Trekking in Bhutan allows trekkers to hike along beautiful landscape is covered with lush green forests and splendid of snow capped peaks beyond together.

Bhutan Druk Path Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: ARRIVAL AT PARO
Get on board Druk Air, Bhutan’s national airline, from Kathmandu bound for Paro.  In the evening visit Paro town, stroll through its quaint two streets and browse through the shops.

 Day 02: PARO Sightseeing
Drive to Drukgyel Dzong, the fortress of the victorious Drukpas. Although gutted by a fire, the fortress once served to repel Tibetan invasions. On the way back visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse to get a glimpse into the daily life of the Bhutanese. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum and Rinpung Dzong (built in 1645 A.D).

Day 3: Start trekking from Paro to Jele Dzong  
In Paro from hotel, transfer to the trailhead near Ta Dzong museum and begin trekking. About 4-5hr trek uphill ascending 1050m and overnight at tented camp 3570m

Day 4: Trek to Jangchulakha  
Explore Jeli Dzong and trek along the ridges with the views of Paro’s side valleys. About 10km distance 4hr hike and overnight at tented camp 3760m

Day 05: Trek to Jimilangtso Lake  
Trek about 10km/4hr and camp near the lake at 3870m and enjoy camping at beautiful lake shore.

Day 06: Trek to Simkota Lake  
Climb up gradually up to 4150m and descend to your camp site at 4110m enjoy overlooking wonderful views of other lake. It is about 11km and 4hr trek and overnight at tented camping.

Day 07: Trek to Phajoding
Today gradually trek follows up hill and climb to Labanla pass at 4210m, after which the trail makes a long and steep descent past Thujidrag to Phajoding. The campsite is near the hermitages and monasteries at 3750m, distance covers 10km/3-4hrs and overnight at tented camping.

Day 08: End with the trek to Thimphu nearby end the trip and transfer
After visiting the temples and monasteries in Phajoding, walk downhill for about 5km/3hr to Motithang (2540m). Get catch up the transportation to transfer hotel in Thimpu.

 Day 09: Thimphu Sightseeing
Morning, enjoy a cultural show at Royal Academy of Performing Arts and visit the weekend market if on a weekend. Visit the National Library Where many rare and ancient manuscripts are preserved and the School Arts & Crafts.

Day 10: Thimphu Sightseeing
In the morning, visit the Memorial Chorten, a stupa conscpetualised by the Third King to ward off negative influences. It was later built in his memory by the present King and the Queen Mother. Other important places include the Folk Heritage Museum for an insight into the medieval lifestyle of the Bhutanese; the National Library which contains collections of literature and scriptures; the Textile Museum for ancient Bhutanese textile collections; a Nunnery, the 12th century Changgangkha temple; and a drive to the viewpoint of Thimphu and national animal-Takin research center. If time permits, visit Tashicho Dzong, the center of government and the monastic order. 

Day 11: Morning breakfast and airport transfer, catch the flight get fly to onward destination     
(Paro-Kathmandu or other destination)

Passport detail must be sent to us 10 days in advanced for visa process.

Three copies of original passport size photographs are required on arrival. Visa fee US $ 50 for 14 days and US $ 10 as Tourism development must be paid on arrival. Visa can be further extended with an additional fee of US $ 15.
