Itinerary

  1. Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

    You will be welcomed by our staff standing with your name card at the airport arrival terminal and transferred to your hotel by a private vehicle. Your hotel is in the middle of the city. You will have nothing planned for the day, so take a rest and gather the energy to walk on the trails. Else, if you have some personal gears to buy, you can go shopping in the Market in the evening. You will spend a night in a hotel.

  2. Day 02 Kathmandu | trek preparation, Permits Procedure (1,300m/4,264 ft)

    After enjoying breakfast, you have the option to spend your day exploring the many famous sights around Kathmandu. The city has a unique charm in the early morning as it slowly comes to life, but still remains relatively peaceful. You can choose to have a free day or take advantage of our offer to provide a knowledgeable, English-speaking guide who can lead you to some of the most significant sites and explain their history.
    Optional day tours:
    We offer a variety of optional day tours to choose from, including the Sacred Sites of the Valley, a full-day excursion to visit Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and also visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Boudhanath, and see the world's largest spherical stupa, or explore the largest and most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal.
    For those who want to venture outside of the city, a 30-minute drive will take you to the ancient city of Bhaktapur, known for its medieval art and wood carving. You can also go hiking or mountain biking in the scenic Shivapuri National Park, located on the northern edge of the Kathmandu Valley.
    After your day's adventure, you'll return to your hotel in the early evening where you'll meet with our specialist or one of their staff members who will provide you with a detailed briefing of your upcoming trip, including what to expect and transportation logistics.

  3. Day 03 Fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu – 45min flight:

    Embark on an exhilarating journey from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj as you embrace the dawn's first light. At the break of day, you will make your way to Tribhuwan International Airport, where a private vehicle awaits to whisk you away to the domestic terminal. With anticipation in the air, you will board a flight bound for Nepalgunj, a swift voyage lasting approximately one hour.
    As you soar through the skies, a tapestry of breathtaking sights unfolds before your eyes. From the vantage point of your aircraft, you will behold the majestic Kathmandu valley, adorned by the sprawling Himalayas and the diverse mosaic of Nepal's landscapes.     Upon your arrival in Nepalgunj, accommodations will be arranged, providing a haven of comfort and repose. With the remainder of the day at your leisure, you are free to embark on your personal expedition, delving into the enchanting wonders that Nepalgunj has to offer.

  4. Day 04 Fly from Nepalgunj to Juphal, then trek to Dunai (2140 meters)

    Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, preparing yourself for the next leg of your adventure. Bid farewell to your accommodations as you make your way to the airport for your flight to Juphal. The journey from Nepalgunj to Juphal will whisk you away in approximately 45 minutes, granting you captivating vistas of majestic mountains along the way.
    Upon touchdown at Juphal airport, take a moment to rejuvenate and gather your bearings. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet the dedicated porters, whose unwavering commitment saw them trekking for 4-5 days from Nepalgunj, shouldering the weight of all the necessary supplies.
    With the initial preparations complete, it's time to embark on your first day of trekking. The trail commences with an hour of downhill trekking, guiding you through terraced fields before leading you to the enchanting Bheri River and its awe-inspiring gorge. The journey to Dunai, situated approximately 3 hours away, will unfold before you, offering a blend of natural beauty and cultural encounters.

    The following day marks the commencement of your journey from Dunai to Ankhe. Ascending steadily, you ascend to a ridge that grants access to the captivating Phoksundo River Valley. Progressing onward, the path meanders through yet another ridge, then a scenic canyon, eventually leading you to Rahagaon. Pushing forward, you traverse a lush and dense forest, immersing yourself in its serene ambiance, until you finally reach the enchanting destination of Ankhe. There are two possible routes to Sibu, and we choose the shorter one by retracing our steps back to Saldang village. As we continue on the trail, we pass through Namdo village, which is home to approximately 400 residents and spans a distance of 5 km. The village is adorned with the Namdo monastery, a spiritual sanctuary located near the Nam Khong river. After exploring Namdo, we trek for another two hours, traversing the rugged terrain, until we finally reach Sibu. This picturesque village awaits us, offering a glimpse into the unique way of life and cultural traditions that thrive in this remote corner of the world.

  17. Day 17 Sibu to Jeng-la Phedi (4,900m/16,072ft)(5-6 hours)

  19. Day 19 Tokyu to Dho Tarap(4,040m/13,251ft)(5-6 hours)

    After leaving the village of Tokyu, we embark on a scenic and relatively easy trek through a fertile valley. This 2-3 hour trek brings an end to the long and challenging adventure, as we arrive in Juphal, concluding our remarkable journey.

  26. Day 26 Fly back to Nepalgunj; Fly back to Kathmandu

    Following a hearty breakfast, we will bid farewell to Juphal and make our way to the local airport. There, we will board a flight back to Nepalgunj, retracing our journey from the remote Dolpo region. Once in Nepalgunj, we will have a brief layover before our onward flight to Kathmandu.
    While waiting for our departure time, take a moment to reflect on the incredible adventure we've just experienced. The memories of Dolpo's awe-inspiring landscapes, cultural encounters, and personal achievements will remain etched in our hearts. Upon reaching Kathmandu, our office representative will warmly welcome us at the domestic terminal of the airport. A comfortable private vehicle will be waiting to transfer us to our hotel, where we can relax, unwind, and reminisce about the extraordinary journey through the mystical Dolpo region.
    As we settle back into the bustling cityscape of Kathmandu, let us carry the spirit of adventure and the lessons learned from our trek in Dolpo, keeping those memories close as we continue our journey through life.
