Ganden - Samye Valley Trek is Tibet’s prime route when Tibet was first opened for travelers in 1985. The Ganden - Samye trail was the most popular trekking route crossing 2 mountain passes, beautiful alpine lakes and nomads. The trek begins from The Ganden Monastery (4180 m), 32 kms by road from Lhasa high above the Kyichu River and ends at The Samye Monastery. The main temple Utse at Samye represents Mount Meru and it is consider as a centre of the Universe.

Ganden - Samye Valley Trek covers one of the traditional trail exploration trip in Tibet, was used by locals years and years back. Ganden - Samye Valley Trek first two days allow you to comprehensive guided sightseeing in Lhasa. In Lhasa you will be exploring all major highlighted spots of around including popular Potala Place, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka summer place of Dalai Lama and Tibetan traditional Bharkhor market. Probably it is the best way for acclimatization halt day for further safe journey.

Ganden - Samye Valley Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa Or arrive Lhasa via main land of China
Upon arrival at Gonggar airport, you shall be met and transfer provided to Lhasa City. O/nt at Hotel.

Day 02 / 03: Lhasa Sightseeing Tour
Visit The Potala & Norbulinka Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung & Sera Monastery and Barkhor Bazaar. O/nts at Hotel in Lhasa.

Day 04: Drive to Ganden
Drive to Ganden Monastery visit beautiful artifact of Tibet and trek to Hebu and overnight camp.

Day 05: Trek to Zhukar
Trek over Zhukar La Pass (5200m), explore and enjoy beautiful sceneries and overnight camp.

Day 06: Chetur
Cross Chetur La Pass via alpine Lakes, cross the pass and enjoy beautiful sceneries and overnight camp.

Day 07: Yomalung
Trek visiting Yomalung meditation cave enroute along hiking and overnight camp.

Day 08: Samye Valley
Trek to the Samye Valley. Visit the Samye Monastery and overnight camp.

Day 09: Brahmaputra
Cross the Brahmaputra River and drive to Tsetang to explore The Yambhulhakhang, Tibet's first castle and Cha-Duk Monastery. O/nt at Hotel Tsetang.

Day 10: Gyantse
Drive to Gyantse enroute visiting Yamdrok - Tso Lake and O/nt at hotel.

Day 11: Shigatse
Drive to Shigatse, visit most highlighted attraction of around and O/nt at hotel.

Day 12: Tingri
Drive to Tingri visiting Shakya Monastery enroute. O/nt at guesthouse.

Day 13: Nyalam
Drive to Nyalam, enjoy shopping or visit local town  O/nt at hotel.

Day 14: Zhangmu
Drive downhill to Zhangmu and proceed further to The friendship Bridge where transportation awaits for the group's journey to Kathmandu.
