Chulu West Peak Climbing: 6,220 m.

Chulu West and Chulu Central are best accessed from a base camp situated in a small valley north of Manang off the main trail to the Thorong La. Some of the best views of these peaks can be had from that pass. When climbing these peaks, be prepared for steep scree to col a 4,900 m. North of the col ascend snow slopes for 200 meters to a rock band at 5,100 m. Climb this difficult rock band to 5,450 m., cross onto a snow plateau at 5,530m. and follow the progressively narrowing ridge to the summit (Chulu West).

To Climb Chulu Central, cross the snow plateau and then traverse onto the Chulu Glacier basin east of the ridge. Ascend the broad glacier slopes avoiding serac obstacles. While not technically difficult, this area can be nasty in soft snow and is prone to avalanche under certain conditions. Continue toward the obvious Central summit on steepening snow until it is possible to gain the crest of the summit ridge, which may be corniced. This leads directly to a small saddle and the final 15 meter pinnacle.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in highlighted area of capital city Kathmandu and preparation for the trip.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu via Besishahar (6h-850m) to Syage and O/n at lodge.

Day 04: Syange – Tal village (6h-1314m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 05: Tal Village – Timang (6h-1943m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 06: Timang – Chame (5h30-2713m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 07: Chame – Pisang (6h-3185m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 08:  Pisang –Manang (3500m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 09:   Manang -acclimatization day /exploration around.

Day 10:   Manang to Yak Kharka/ Lether (6h-4000m) and O/n at lodge.

Day 11: Yak Kharka/ Lether - Chulu West Base camp (4.900 m). 3/4 h.

Day 12: Climbing period

Day 16: Letdar - Thorung Phedi (4.420 m), h 3, and O/n at lodge.

Day 17: Thorung Phedi - Thorung La (5.416 m) - Muktinath (3.800 m), h 8/10.

Day 18: Muktinath - Kagbeni - Jomsom (2.713 m), and O/n at lodge.

Day 19: Jomosom – Pokhara by flight and transfer to hotel.

Day 20: Pokhara to Kathmandu.
