Renjo La Pass Trek is an exciting and joyful trekking experience in the Everest region of Nepal. It offers the opportunity to explore the less visited area of the Mt Everest trail and provides breathtaking views of high mountain scenery.
The trek starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, where trekkers will begin their journey. The trail passes through small villages, Tibetan prayer flags, and ancient monasteries, creating a cultural and spiritual ambience. Crossing several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, adds to the adventure. The trek continues to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest Base Camp, where trekkers can rest and acclimatize. Namche Bazaar is a vibrant Sherpa town with shops, cafes, and stunning views of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
From Namche Bazaar, the trek proceeds towards Renjo La Pass, which is off the usual beaten track. Alternatively, trekkers can choose the Gokyo route, which is easier. The trail passes through picturesque landscapes, rhododendron and birch forests, and yak pastures. Trekkers will reach Gokyo, situated by the side of the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal. Gokyo offers magnificent views of the Himalayas and the opportunity to explore the Gokyo Valley and its lakes. The highlight of the trek is reaching Renjo La Pass, located at an altitude of 5,360 meters (17,585 feet). From the pass, trekkers can enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyo, and other majestic peaks. After crossing the pass, the trek descends to Marlung, passing through scenic landscapes.
The trek concludes with a return to Namche Bazaar and then Lukla. A flight from Lukla takes trekkers back to Kathmandu, where they can celebrate their successful trek. The trip duration is 13 days, and the best seasons for this trek are autumn (September-October-November) and spring (March-April-May). The trek is considered strenuous, and the maximum altitude reached is 5,360 meters (17,585 feet).
The package includes airport transfers, accommodation in Kathmandu, domestic flights, meals during the trek, experienced guides and porters, necessary permits, and transportation. However, it does not include meals in Kathmandu, travel insurance, international airfare, personal expenses, trekking equipment, emergency evacuation, and tips.
The Renjo La Pass Trek offers a thrilling adventure, stunning natural beauty, and a chance to immerse oneself in the Sherpa culture of the Everest region.
